#HealthbyDesign means putting people first, over aesthetics or other moves that are often thought of when we think of architecture. Putting the needs to the people into the core of a project. Allowing architecture to work as a public service to enhance the lives of those who need it most. hen it was initially made. But also, in this way, design can be as simple as making a choice, since good design often responds to bad design. Bad design isn’t a desired outcome, but as builders and architects, it is often that our dreams don’t come to fruition and reality limits how projects look in our heads. Design, especially building design, affects people greatly, in how they feel and how they act and interact with each other and their surroundings. It also leads me to think of how members
within the AIA are pushing for architects to stop designing prisons, a place where–at least in this country–is intended for cruel and jarring living conditions.
