︎  Campus Health - Making The Healthy Choice, For Everyone

How can campus design foster holistic health and community well-being?

How do we set the stage for better health, by design? How can we create college environments that address the needs of students, faculty and staff, for physical, social, emotional and cognitive health? What is the intersection between college campuses and healthy communities? What is the link between design intent and health outcome?

Fall 2024 Class Students focused on exploring the role of college campuses as environments for fostering physical, social, emotional, and cognitive health. By understanding the interplay between design intent and health outcomes, they worked to create actionable interventions that enhance well-being while addressing the growing pressures on healthcare systems with an emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, evidence-based and evidence-challenging design, and the development of impactful innovations bridging public health, clinical outcomes, and human perception. Students developed a comprehensive understanding of how design can actively improve health on campuses with innovative, interdisciplinary design solutions aimed at creating healthier, more supportive college environments.
