#HealthbyDesign is ...

Health is humanity, design becomes humanity’s sensitivity. Honoring humanity becomes honoring wellness. Wellness, then, becomes a direction- perhaps the direction. When
followed by the sensitivity of humanity, the act of redirection becomes a memorial of humane design. From person to person, “health” feels relative, but to all, health is the foundation. It is our indicator that the day has ended and the night has started. We may not immediately recognize it,
but we start every day caring for our health and end every night caring for it again. The idea of wellness itself has become so deeply integrated into our daily schedules- it has blended itself so cleanly into our calendars- that we are no longer able to see it. We start seeing health again when it is on the line. When we almost lose it is when we begin to recognize it again. It is only then that we remember how our life has circulated around this concept of wellness, and it is only then that we understand its social role.

Design is a response. Ideation turned into formation. In a sense, design responds to ideology through the physicality of form. Design becomes a redirection or perhaps even a
reinterpretation of theory. It is important to remember that design is not just a medium but, rather, a new perspective. It becomes this sort of lens, providing a new interpretation of a
pending ideology. Design can and has responded to health. Both directly and indirectly, it remains thoughtful. After all, design is sensitivity and sensitivity is a sign of humanity. To honor humanity is to also honor health. What’s more human than that?
